About Us

Who are we? Daviza Tours is run by Izabella Vanani and David Gabriner.

During a 5-month long cycling trip through Europe together with two of his friends, David, from Holland, met Izabella from Romania, and since then the two have been inseparable. For a number of years they have been living together in Haarlem (the Netherlands), where Izabella quickly learned Dutch and became well acquainted with Dutch culture. But she still misses Romania, the country of her birth and upbringing, and David’s thirst for travelling never left him. The idea of beginning their own travel company specializing in small-scale trips through the Romanian countryside already had been in their minds for some time, and, after getting to know the proposed tour area better themselves, their dreams finally crystallized in the setting up of their own company, “Daviza Tours”.

Izabella is a member of Romania’s Hungarian-speaking minority and a nurse by profession, working part-time in a paramedic capacity in the Department of Cardiology of the Kennemer Gasthuis Hospital in Haarlem.

David has been afflicted with the ‘travel itch’ all of his life, having also led groups of tourists through India for a Dutch tour operator specializing in Asian destinations. Since 2000 he has been employed at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) as a security consultant responsible for the training and supervision of personnel tasked with ensuring the safety of passengers flying with so-called  ‘high-risk’ companies that arrive at and depart from Schiphol. For the time being, he plans to continue working part-time in this capacity as he increasingly devotes himself to the organization and guiding of Daviza Tours.
